Finding New Waves After a Volcanic Eruption With Dylan Graves and Friends

Description
"Imagine losing your local surf zones to a volcanic eruption. It all disappears: lineups, parking lots, check spots, every little thing. There’s no future for any of it — just a memory. Or is that totally the case? In this challenging episode, Dylan visits Poho’iki on Hawaii, where in 2018, lava flow buried the home of a thriving surf culture, along with the town itself. It’s where renowned scientist Cliff Kapono loved to surf, and where after three years of avoiding the place, he takes Dylan on a surf check of a coast that’s vanished forever. Yet where new land is formed, now hope often springs forth, and when the two along with some of Cliff’s fellow Poho’iki crew go hunting waves along the new shoreline, they find a kind of blessing. This is a great and quite profound episode of an always playful show".
