Where to surf in Grenada

The six Grenadine islands governed by Grenada sees little difference in the geology and outer reefs are the only reliable swell catchers, as seen on the biggest island Carriacou and its satellites, Petit St Vincent and Petit Martinique. The north coast of Caille Island has a proper, long, righthand reef setup that is cross-offshore in a SE wind, but it is next to the world’s most expensive private island. The water deepens off Grenada and the barrier reefs become less prevalent, but the long and short east coast beaches still fail to produce any class waves in the face of the trades and getting around the island when a swell is running is hard work on the slow road system. Check the south coast at Prickly Bay for some fast lefts and rights or be lucky enough to score the island’s best wave, Cherry Hill, tucked away on the protected west coast.
