Editorial

The Stormrider Surf Guides are put together by experienced surf journalists working with local surfers to give a balanced, reliable view on surf spots around the world. We research each region in the same way, regardless of the quality of its waves, which allows you to compare and contrast the majority of the surf zones covered.

There are a few fringe countries and off-the-beaten-track destinations that don’t display the complete level of information and while we will be constantly updating and adding to our database, we would welcome informed contributions to help improve these regions. If you have solid, factual information and wish to add to the knowledgebase for existing or new countries/regions, then please get in touch through our Contact page.

In the near future, we will provide a moderated space for subscribers to add user-generated insights on a break by break basis.

Photography

If you would like to submit photos that help represent a break or a region, we prefer you contact us directly using email. Please send an edited selection of low-resolution images clearly named via a file transfer website such as WeTransfer to guides@stormrider.surf

The format of photo we use most often for the Stormrider Guides are pulled back line-up shots, although we will also use some close-up action shots to create the right balance throughout the site. We are looking for informative shots which capture the feel of a location or spot and best describe its personality. We are also looking for a few environmental and cultural shots for introductory pages, but have no interest in publishing any shots depicting nudity or anything of a sexual nature (surf porn only!).

Videos

Video submissions need to be hosted on an external server/provider such as YouTube or Vimeo. Please provide url link, title, short synopsis and any information that will help us link it to the correct breaks or region. Again we are looking for informative clips that help viewers understand the wave(s) in a region and show the nuances of riding them.
